WCQR2021 | Pre-Conference Roundtable | 15th October 2020 [Online]

Qualitative Research: Practices and Challenges

The 5th World Conference on Qualitative Research (WCQR2021) will be held online (Virtual Conference), 20th to 22nd January 2021. The 4th World Congress on Qualitative Research (WCQR2019) was held in Porto (Portugal) in October 2019 and welcomed 200 researchers from 40+ countries. One of the publications to come out of WCQR2019 was Qualitative Research: Practices and Challenges, from the New Trends in Qualitative Research series.

The current context of the global COVID-19 pandemic has posed challenges and opportunities for researchers in every knowledge area, regardless of their geographic location. It is a new reality that requires adjustments, from planning to data collection and analysis, methods, techniques, collaborative work, ethical issues, and the health and safety of all parties involved.

This round table explored the themes presented in the e-book Qualitative Research: Practices and Challenges and proposed a reflection and discussion on the current issues, perspectives, and opportunities of Qualitative Research.

Invited speakers: Catarina Brandão (University of Porto) Arceli Rosario (Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies) Elizabeth Pope (University of West Georgia).

Moderator: Sónia P. Gonçalves (University of Lisbon).
